The 400 acre site sits on Army land near Interstate 25 just off mile marker 132. The entrance is located just outside Fort Carson&#8217;s Gate 20 security perimeter. Shooters using the range will not have to enter Fort Carson to use the range.<\/p>\n<p>The Range Complex is a three (3) phase project. During phase one (1), seven (7) shooting ranges are being constructed with more than ninety (90) shooting stations and two (2) additional ranges with thirty (30) firing points extending 50 yards &#8211; designed for pistols. Shooters will check\/set and retrieve targets. Three (3) ranges will be designated for rifles with distances between 100-600 yards.<\/p>\n<p>The second phase of the project will include the construction of five (5) skeet &amp; trap ranges and a club house. The club house will include a retail store, classrooms and offices. obey all range commands.<\/li>\n<li>Empty Chamber Indicators (ECI) must be inserted in the chamber of all cleared firearms during &#8220;SAFE&#8221; or &#8220;COLD&#8221; conditions on the Range.<\/li>\n<li>Shooting will take place on designated ranges only.<\/li>\n<li>All firearms must remain unloaded with actions open except on firing line. A handgun may be carried on one&#8217;s person only in a holster designed for safe and secure retention of that handgun. No handgun may be removed from that holster except on the firing line.<\/li>\n<li>No Military armor piercing or tracer ammunition may be used on any range.<\/li>\n<li>No Alcoholic beverages will be allowed on or behind any firing line or range. Violators will be asked to leave the premises.
