As part of the update, El Paso County staff will no longer call participants for public comment. Multiple avenues for providing public input will remain available. This change will take effect on Jan. 13, 2025.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>The call-in process was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure there was no disruption to public comment. Over time, calling members of the public has presented recurring technical challenges that have affected the quality and accessibility of meetings.\u00a0Participation in the call-in format has also been low, with most residents choosing to engage in person or through written submissions, both of which remain available and encouraged.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>As a result, we\u2019ve strengthened our participation methods and are updating procedures to ensure reliable, accessible services for our community.\u00a0These changes demonstrate the County\u2019s commitment to efficient and transparent public meetings.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Residents are encouraged to share input in the following ways:<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>In person during public meetings: <\/strong>Meeting schedules and agendas are available at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agendasuite.org\/iip\/elpaso\">https:\/\/www.agendasuite.org\/iip\/elpaso<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>By email: <\/strong>Contact information for Commissioners and departments is available at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elpasoco.com\/contact-us\/\">https:\/\/www.elpasoco.com\/contact-us\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Through Citizen Connect:<\/strong> Submit comments and questions to El Paso County Commissioners at: <a href=\"https:\/\/citizenconnect.elpasoco.com\">https:\/\/citizenconnect.elpasoco.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ADA Accommodations:<\/strong> Requests should be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
