Applications are due by <strong>December 11, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Make a Difference &#8211; Volunteer as a Mental Health Professional on the CCB<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Are you a mental health professional passionate about helping your community? The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking a volunteer mental health expert to join the CCB and help create safer, healthier outcomes for individuals involved in the justice system.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Voice Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>As a CCB volunteer, you\u2019ll make a real impact by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewing referrals and determining which offenders can safely be placed in the community.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing conditions under which an offender may participate in a program.<\/li>\n<li>Setting and enforcing standards for service providers that operate local community corrections facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring program compliance with state and local requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Advising the El Paso County Board of Commissioners and the 4<sup>th<\/sup> Judicial District Community Corrections Authority on community corrections matters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>The board brings together local leaders\u2014from law enforcement and the courts to public defenders, alongside community members and one mental health professional. Your perspective ensures mental health is a central part of decision-making.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Time Commitment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend monthly board meetings (third Wednesday, 12:15 p.m.)\u2014in person or virtually.<\/li>\n<li>Independently review and ballot weekly on approximately 25 offender cases per week, requiring roughly four to six hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Bring your expertise and compassion to the table. Help shape a justice system that prioritizes rehabilitation, safety, and community well-being.
