This week-long program, offered free of charge to residents and County employees, provides an in-depth look at how County government operates and serves the community. Participants will gain valuable insight into the structure, functions, and services provided by various County departments and elected offices.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Citizen College is designed to inform and empower participants through direct interaction with County leaders, tours of public facilities, and presentations on key functions such as budgeting, land use, public safety, and the justice system.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><strong>2025 Citizen College Session Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Session 1 \u2013 Monday, October 13: County Government, Budget &amp; Land Use<\/li>\n<li>Session 2 \u2013 Tuesday, October 14: Property Taxes, Elections, and DMV Services<\/li>\n<li>Session 3 \u2013 Wednesday, October 15: Emergency Management &amp; Public Works<\/li>\n<li>Session 4 \u2013 Thursday, October 16: 4th Judicial District Attorney&#8217;s Office<\/li>\n<li>Session 5 \u2013 Friday, October 17: El Paso County Combined Courts<\/li>\n<li>Session 6 \u2013 Saturday, October 18: Sheriff&#8217;s Office, County Jail, Coroner&#8217;s Office followed by County Parks presentation and graduation at the Fountain Creek Nature Center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The El Paso County Citizen College is one of the most effective ways we connect residents with the work of their local government,&#8221; said Ruble Henderson, Chair of the El Paso County Citizen Outreach Group. &#8220;It gives participants a front-row seat to the decision-making processes, services, and responsibilities that impact our daily lives.
