She brings a background in product development, having worked as a Food Scientist for major food corporations. In 2021, she was elected to the Colorado Springs School District 11 Board of Education, where she has served as Treasurer, reflecting her dedication to public education and community service.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Nelson also serves on the board of Quaker Ridge Camp &amp; Conference Center and plays the violin with the Pikes Peak Philharmonic.
