{"id":17764,"date":"2025-02-28T09:13:53","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T16:13:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.elpasoco.com\/?p=17764"},"modified":"2025-02-28T09:13:53","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T16:13:53","slug":"volunteer-needed-for-el-paso-county-citizen-outreach-group-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elpasoco.com\/volunteer-needed-for-el-paso-county-citizen-outreach-group-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer Needed for El Paso County Citizen Outreach Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p class=\"s20\"><strong><span class=\"s18\">February 28<\/span><span class=\"s18\">, 2025<\/span><span class=\"s18\"> \u2013 <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s19\">The Board of El Paso County Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on the El Paso County Citizen Outreach Group. <\/span><span class=\"s19\">Applications are being accepted for\u00a0two at-large members<\/span><span class=\"s19\"> and<\/span><span class=\"s19\"> are due by<\/span> <strong><span class=\"s18\">March 14<\/span><span class=\"s18\">, 2025.<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s18\"> \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s22\"><strong><span class=\"s21\">Citizen Outreach Group<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"s22\"><span class=\"s23\">El Paso County Citizen Outreach Group (COG) helps educate residents <\/span><span class=\"s23\">on<\/span><span class=\"s23\"> the work <\/span><span class=\"s23\">of <\/span><span class=\"s23\">and services provided by El Paso County, serves as citizen ambassadors on behalf of County government to the public as requested by designated staff, and assesses the progress <\/span><span class=\"s23\">and<\/span><span class=\"s23\"> efforts of County strategic initiatives, such as the County Strategic Plan, the County\u2019s <\/span><span class=\"s23\">b<\/span><span class=\"s23\">udget, and the activity of the Public Safety tax.<\/span> <span class=\"s24\">The COG, in its capacity, support<\/span><span class=\"s24\">s<\/span><span class=\"s24\"> the County\u2019s efforts in hosting the County Citizen College, the County Fair and other events in order to encourage and enhance transparency and collaboration between citizens and<\/span><span class=\"s24\"> their<\/span> <span class=\"s24\">County<\/span><span class=\"s24\"> government. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s22\"><span class=\"s23\">Each at-large voting member shall be limited to two (2) consecutive three (3) year terms. <\/span><span class=\"s24\">Citizen Outreach Group (COG) meetings are<\/span><span class=\"s24\"> typically<\/span> <span class=\"s25\">held <\/span><span class=\"s25\">monthly<\/span><span class=\"s25\"> at Centennial Hall, 200 S.
