The closure was prompted by the dislodgment of sizable rocks from the cliff, posing a hazard to parked cars.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>After carefully considering safety, Rainbow Falls will reopen with the parking lot blocked off with sturdy barriers to safeguard visitors from potential rockfall incidents.\u00a0A new parking location and shuttle has been made\u00a0available through an agreement with a park concessionaire, Adventures Out West.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Visitors can park their vehicles off Highway 24 and Serpentine Drive, also known as &#8220;Higginbotham Flats,&#8221; in Manitou Springs.\u00a0The shuttle service will operate continuously from Friday to Sunday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A nominal fee of $20 per car will be charged; this fee includes parking and shuttle service.\u00a0Rainbow Fall visitors are encouraged to make an online reservation.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors to Rainbow Falls,&#8221; stated\u00a0Todd Marts, Executive Director of El Paso County Parks &amp; Community Services.\u00a0&#8220;These proactive measures not only addresses parking concerns, but also ensure that our visitors can continue to appreciate Rainbow Falls.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>El Paso County Parks Department\u00a0is\u00a0grateful for visitors&#8217; understanding and patience during the recent temporary closure period and look forward to welcoming guests back to the site under enhanced safety protocols.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>For more information about Rainbow Falls and to make your reservation, please visit:<a href=\"https:\/\/url.us.m.mimecastprotect.com\/s\/rwTwCo2K8qH6OprvczWl0m\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/communityservices.elpasoco.com\/parks-and-recreation\/rainbow-falls-historic-site\/<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]June 04, 2024 &#8211;\u00a0Rainbow Falls, a beloved natural attraction, has announced its reopening plans following a rockfall incident that led to the site&#8217;s temporary closure.
