[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]March 08, 2024 – <\/strong>Due to weather impacts, the <\/span>northbound South Academy Boulevard off-ramp closure to Bradley Road planned for March 8 and 9 will be rescheduled for Friday, March 15, 7 p.m. to Saturday, March 16, 3 p.m. <\/span>to allow crews to install drainage pipe across the roadway.<\/p>\n

A detour will be in place:\u00a0 traffic intending to exit northbound South Academy Boulevard to Bradley Road will continue north to Milton E. Proby Parkway, turn right and travel to Hancock Expressway, turn right and continue to Bradley Road.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, drivers traveling from US 85\/87 to enter northbound South Academy Boulevard can anticipate a 24-hour ongoing on-ramp closure and shift to a new temporary on-ramp<\/strong> beginning Monday afternoon, March 11, as crews perform work on roadway and utilities in the area. The ramp lane width be reduced to 12 feet, and speeds will be reduced to 30 MPH. This closure will be in effect approximately 5-6 months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Effective Feb. 21, two westbound lanes on South Academy Boulevard are open, along with a single eastbound lane using the westbound South Academy bridge<\/strong> over Fountain Creek. Speeds across the detour cross over lanes and across the bridge will remain reduced to 35 MPH. Bridge lanes will be 11 feet wide with a 2-foot shoulder. Oversize loads will not be allowed on the bridge during this closure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Motorists are advised to use caution at all entrance ramps as merge lengths have been shortened. <\/span><\/strong>In particular, motorists should be prepared to stop on the US 85\/87 on-ramp to eastbound South Academy<\/strong> since merge area is greatly reduced. Work crews are installing signage and flashing beacons to alert traffic to the new lane lengths.<\/span><\/p>\n

All lanes of Bradley Road under South Academy Boulevard will be shifted to the center of the roadway ongoing to allow crews to perform work on new bridge piers.<\/span><\/p>\n

A left lane closure is ongoing for northbound and southbound South Academy Boulevard over Bradley Road to allow crews to perform bridge work.<\/span><\/p>\n
