{"id":13913,"date":"2024-01-16T12:29:14","date_gmt":"2024-01-16T19:29:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.elpasoco.com\/?p=13913"},"modified":"2024-01-16T12:30:11","modified_gmt":"2024-01-16T19:30:11","slug":"volunteers-needed-for-el-paso-county-community-services-block-grant-csbg-advisory-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elpasoco.com\/volunteers-needed-for-el-paso-county-community-services-block-grant-csbg-advisory-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers Needed for El Paso County Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Advisory Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>January 16, 2024<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0The El Paso County Board of Commissioners announces a vacancy on the El Paso County Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Advisory Board.\u00a0<strong>Applications for the open position are due by\u00a0January 31, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>The role of the El Paso County CSBG Advisory Board is to participate actively in the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the CSBG program in El Paso County and making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on how best to utilize CSBG funding to serve low-income residents of El Paso County.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>The Board consists of nine members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms; members are limited to two full consecutive terms.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Board meetings are held quarterly; March, June, September, and December on the 2nd Friday of the month from 2:00-3:30 PM.\u00a0Meetings are currently being held over an online platform.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>The CSBG Advisory Board is currently seeking one new member.\u00a0This member must represent the \u2018Public Elected Official\u2019 sector\u00a0as either an elected official, or the designee\/appointee of an elected official. Public officials selected to serve on the board must have either executive government responsibilities, or responsibilities which require them to be involved with poverty-related matters. A public official may choose one representative to serve on the board, full-time on their behalf.
